Why inventory in the operations platform

Materials are part of the work, not a side project.

For service and trade businesses, products are tied to the jobs: parts are used on cases, sit in service vans and belong on the invoice. That is why stock belongs in the same system.

No one knows what is in stock
The stock lives in the warehouse manager’s head and only surfaces when the shelf is empty.
Products get bought twice
Without a shared overview, two departments order the same thing while other items run short.
The technician drives for nothing
The part was not in the van, and the trip back to the warehouse costs an hour.
Materials left off the invoice
Parts that were used never get invoiced, because they are not logged on the job.
Purchasing without a system
Orders sit in emails and notepads, and no one knows what is on order.
Supplier terms are scattered
Who supplies what at which price is hard to find when it is time to order.

The inventory core

Catalogue, stock, purchasing. Together.

Product catalogue

Product numbers, categories, variants and prices in one catalogue that the whole company shares.

Multiple warehouses

Track stock per warehouse: main warehouse, departments and service vans, with transfers between them.

Minimum and reordering

Set minimum levels per product, so it is clear what needs ordering before the shelf runs empty.

Purchase orders and suppliers

Raise purchase orders to the supplier and track what is on order and what has arrived.

The connection

From shelf and van to job and invoice.

Materials on the job

Usage follows the work all the way to the invoice

When parts and materials are logged on the job, they carry into the invoice basis alongside the hours. So usage gets invoiced instead of forgotten, and the stock level matches reality.

Van stock

The service van is a warehouse too

Track what is in each van, so the technician has the parts on board and the office knows what to restock. Fewer wasted trips, fewer rush purchases at full price.

Can products have variants?

How do we avoid running out of critical items?

Yes. Materials used can go into the invoice basis alongside hours and work carried out.

Can we keep track of suppliers?

Yes. Suppliers, their products and purchase orders sit in the same system as the rest of operations.
