Invoicing and bookkeeping

How to create an invoice

Choose the customer, add line items, check amounts, VAT and payment terms, then follow the invoice from draft to payment.

Step by step

  1. Choose the customer

Find the customer the invoice should go to. Address and payment details are pulled from the customer record.

  2. Add invoice lines

Add lines for hours, services and materials, or build on an accepted quote so prices match the agreement.

  3. Check amounts, VAT and due date

Review price, discount, VAT and payment terms before the invoice is approved. Mistakes here cost time in reminders and credit notes.

  4. Approve or save as draft

Save as a draft if someone else needs to approve, or approve and send the invoice following your process.

  5. Track the payment

Follow the invoice status and act on overdue payments straight away.
